AK Belysning keeps 42,000 lights shining

The Danish equipment rental magazine ”Maskin og Materiel Magasinet” has written an article about the municipal streetlight contractor AK Belysning and the company’s effort to keep 42,000 streetlights in the city of Aalborg in service.

AK Belysning commands a fleet of 3 van mounted Versalift platforms operated by two-man teams of a driver and an electrician, who typically replace the fixtures of an entire road stretch of streetlights to LED using the innovative drive option by Versalift.

Using the drive option, the chauffeur drives the vehicle at a reduced speed from streetlight to streetlight while the platform remains elevated with the electrician in the bucket. Using this approach, AK Belysning saves time by not having to pack and set up the lift thereby greatly decreasing the time required to replace a series of fixtures on a road stretch.
